Brat [US] + Support: X Teenage Rebels + Dead Sleep [SE]
Brat bringer barbie violence til Stengade d. 5 august!
Brat:
Straight out of the Crescent City, BRAT are set to release their forthcoming debut album, Social Grace, via Prosthetic Records on March 15. Since their 2021 inception, the New Orleans deathgrind / hardcore band’s journey to date has been one of blistering ascension both on the road and in-studio with relentless US touring and two head turning EP’s already under their belt. Enter 2024 and BRAT are ready to give extreme music the pink pill.
Between an intense live schedule over the last three years, which saw BRAT share the stage with the likes of Eyehategod, Cro-Mags and contemporaries in grind such as ACxDC and No/Mas, the band recorded Social Grace over the course of a year and a half at HighTower Recording studio (Thou, A Wilhelm Scream, Eyehategod). Recording songs in batches helped BRAT finetune and focus their songcraft in condensed bursts, resulting in a coalescence of death metal, thrash, and powerviolence brutality.
BRAT’s self-described barbiegrind / bimboviolence aesthetic is one of intentional dichotomy to their sound, with a keen focus to allow space and inclusivity for outsiders that shirks the traditional in favor of jubilant authenticity. Feral and ferocious in content and anti-purist in nature, BRAT’s Social Grace is a cataclysmically heavy party that everyone’s invited to.
+ Support: X Teenage Rebels
X Teenage Rebels set the stage ablaze with hard-hitting punk rock and hardcore, spiced with melodic hooks and raw vocals to their Danish-language lyrics. The tempo is high and the energy is uncompromising.
The band has two studio albums under their belt: Still Rebel from 2014 and Det brænder på from 2024. When the rebels take the stage, there is a party, pogo and singing.
+ Dead Sleep:
Malmö based Dead Sleep proudly defies easy categorization. They sound like Dead Sleep! With a unique blend of metal influences from across the ages, their sound is predominantly old school and raw. Breaking rules with their mostly non-metal backgrounds. Above all Dead Sleep loves playing live, loud and being the black sheep that does not play by the genre rules! Marcus was in his past life ”Marcass” - the bass synth player in surfsynthkraut band Quit your dayob, and he started the band some ten tears ago. Marcus wanted to embody the sound of the unbridled punk bands from the 80s and the early boundless creativity and raw energy of bay area thrash metal.
When Anna Wagner, from local punk/noise rock bands Pets or Food and Serial Cynic, joined on bass and vocals Dead Sleep began to become craftsmen of their own special brew of aggressive and loud metal!
Together with past member guitarist Johan Salo (who left the band in 2024) and Per Olofsson, an old-school double kick ass drummer metalhead who love all things metal, Dead Sleep became complete. Today they are a trio, although they might at times be a quartet on stage. They embody the true metal spirit by staying authentic to their own passion and unique craft.
Get ready to experience dead Sleeps gritty and loud metal assault, charging like a heavy freight train through the dark nights of the human soul!
