Terms of Service

By using This Happens, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they protect you as much as us.

1. Who we are

This Happens ApS ("This Happens", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in Denmark that operates the This Happens platform — a city-based local event discovery and promotion service available at thishappens.in and via mobile apps.

By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Your account

To access personalised features — saving events, following venues, posting events — you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Keep your password secure and not share it with anyone
  • Notify us immediately at hello@thishappens.in if you suspect unauthorised access
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

3. Using the platform

This Happens is a platform for discovering, sharing, and promoting local events. You may use it for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • Post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent
  • Publish events that do not actually take place or that you are not authorised to promote
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content without our express written consent
  • Use the platform to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial messages
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations, including intellectual property laws

4. Content you post

You retain ownership of content you post to This Happens (events, images, descriptions). By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform and in our marketing materials.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that content you post does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others, contain illegal material, or violate any applicable regulations (including advertising standards and consumer protection laws).

Promoters and venue operators: When you list an event, you confirm that the event is real, that you have the right to promote it, and that all information provided is accurate. We reserve the right to remove listings that violate these rules without notice or refund.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Some features — including venue partner plans and featured advertising placements — require payment. All pricing is displayed in Danish Kroner (DKK) and is inclusive of applicable VAT.

Payments are processed by QuickPay. We do not store your payment card details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are handled case-by-case; contact us at billing@thishappens.in.

6. Intellectual property

The This Happens name, logo, design, and all original content created by us are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without prior written consent.

Third-party event images, logos, and content remain the property of their respective owners. If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, contact us at legal@thishappens.in with full details and we will act promptly.

7. Moderation and removal

We moderate content to keep the platform safe, accurate, and useful. We reserve the right to remove or modify any content at any time without prior notice, including events that:

  • Are cancelled but not updated on the platform
  • Contain misleading or inaccurate information
  • Promote illegal activities
  • Violate our community standards
  • Generate credible user reports of harm or fraud

If your content is removed, you may contact us to appeal the decision at hello@thishappens.in.

8. Third-party links and services

This Happens links to external ticketing platforms, venue websites, and other third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these external sites. Links do not constitute our endorsement of those services.

Ticket purchases made through third-party ticketing platforms are subject to those platforms' own terms and refund policies.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, This Happens is not liable for:

  • Cancelled, postponed, or misrepresented events listed by third-party promoters
  • Any loss or damage resulting from your use of or inability to use the platform
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in event listings
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data, except where caused by our negligence

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

10. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Danish courts, unless you are a consumer located in another EU member state, in which case you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence.

You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
